Sunday Morning Schedule for February 25 ~ 2nd Sunday in Lent

8:15am Traditional Worship Service

9:45am Sunday School & Bible Classes

11am Blended Praise Worship Service with Holy Communion

LENTEN WORSHIP: Mid-week Lenten worship service is 6:30pm on Wednesdays, Feb. 28, and March 7, 14 & 21.


SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP DRIVE – an outreach opportunity to send a needy child to Hope School to learn about Jesus. Please use the designated envelope or you can enroll in Simply Giving. Envelopes and Simply Giving forms are available in the lobby. Gifts will be used specifically for scholarships. Checks payable to Hope Lutheran School with a note: “For Scholarship”.


YOUTH OASIS is at 6:30pm on Wednesdays. Come for an evening of games, hangout, discussion and fellowship. All youth are welcome. 

The youth are requested to help in the food pantry on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays and Saturdays of each month.  Up to two youth can sign up for each day. Sign-up sheets will be distributed during Sunday School.


FUNDAMENTALS OF FAITH: If you are new to Hope or would like to meet new people, join Pastor Whitfield in Main 1 at 9:45am on Sundays. Learn what Hope is all about.

BIBLE CLASS:  Join Pastor Cofer in the fellowship hall on Sundays at 9:45am for a study of 1 John. This class is also broadcast live on Facebook.

LADIES BIBLE STUDY: Daniel (by Beth Moore) Ladies, join us in the fellowship hall for a study in faith-building and learn how to live with integrity in today’s self-absorbed society. The prophet Daniel faced unbelievable pressures to compromise his faith, to live in a hostile culture, and to confront temptations and threats. Today, believers in Jesus Christ face many of the same trials. This class meets on Sunday mornings at 9:45am. For more info, contact Pam Lagoc at

LWML (LUTHERAN WOMEN’S MISSIONARY LEAGUE) LWML has prayer shawls and chemo patient gift bags. If you know of someone who may need one, see Desiree Davis or Marie Nelson. LWML MITES go to support our missions. Mite boxes are available in the narthex.  Saturday, March 17, at 9:30am is our next regular bi-monthly meeting. All ladies are welcome!

LEISURE LUTHERANS:  All seniors, you are invited to our next luncheon on Monday, March 19, at 11:30am. Location: Y’not Pizza (Landstown area). We will order off the lunch menu. We welcome new members. If you feel like having fun with a bunch of “oldsters,” please join us and help grow our ministry!  A sign-up sheet is posted on our podium in the narthex.

WEDNESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY is 10:30am in Main 1. This group does not meet the last Wednesday of each month.

KNIGHTS OF HOPE: Devotional group of men, ages 18 & older, who gather the second Saturday each month at 8am for breakfast and to discuss the Bible and how to implement its teachings into their lives. They also participate in fun guy-centered activities, mission trips, as well as assist in different projects around the church.

FISH FRY FUNDRAISER : Our next Fish Fry is Friday, March 2, from 5 to 8pm. Cost: $10 per plate. Take out or eat in! Menu: Fish, hushpuppies, French fries, pork & beans, coleslaw, salad. For every pound of food you donate that day (up to 5 pounds) a dollar will be taken off your meal.  This is also a fundraiser for some Property projects in the near future. Fish Fry is sponsored by Property and Knights of Hope.

Member Profile: Each week, we will highlight members during our announcements and on social media. This will help us get to know each other outside of passing the peace and short stints during tasty fellowship. Ideally, everyone will be highlighted. Questions asked will simply be: What’s your name? When did you join Hope? Why do you like Hope? What special talent do you have? Describe something unique about yourself. PRESCHOOL & CHILDCARE DIRECTOR: fulltime; 3-5 years of director experience, minimum Associates Degree in a child-related field, clean background check, preferably grounded in the LCMS.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY DIRECTOR: part-time, 2–4 years of experience leading a church-based children’s ministry, Bachelor degree, preferably in early childhood, strong Christian faith (LCMS background preferred)

WORSHIP LEADER: part-time, flexible position for someone to lead worship for our new 10:45am praise service, Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required, 3 -5 years of ministry experience preferred

YOUTH WORSHIP LEADER: Part-time, will lead worship for our new 10:45am youth praise service, 3 to 5 years of ministry experience, Bachelor’s degree preferred
