Thanks to all of you we provided a home for the Diaz family in Honduras. God’s gifts are stupendous. By the grace of God, can we take it to another level and provide a water pump and have someone drill and install a well for a Village?

Before summer came, we had collected $232 toward this project. This means we have enough for the water pump which is $205 and $27 left toward the well which costs $5,298.  We only need to raise $5,271.

I am sure in the near future we will have an offering for this project.  If you feel a need to make a donation before then or at any time – just put your check in an envelope marked “Food For The Poor-Well”. Your donation for this lifesaving equipment is invaluable and will improve the life and health of an entire Village. I cannot THANK YOU enough.

Editor’s Note: The offering from our Thanksgiving Eve service will be given to Food for the Poor for a well.

Hope’s Food Pantry ALWAYS appreciates your donations. Thank you for anything you can offer! Please place your donations in the BIG YELLOW WAGON in the Narthex. Currently we are in DESPERATE need of breakfast cereal, pancake mix, syrup, peanut butter, jelly, canned or boxed dinners, canned meats. The Food pantry is open year round every second and fourth Wednesdays (6 to 7:30pm) and Saturdays (10 to 11:30am).

As the holidays approach we need items like box mac & cheese, box mash potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, greenbean casserole fixins, gravies, cream soups, chicken or beef broth, vegetables (basically whatever would help a family put a nice holiday meal on their table). We would also gladly accept monetary donations to assist with the purchase of turkeys and supplies for those baskets.

For Thanksgiving, we plan to give away at least 42 baskets to families in need. On Wednesday, Nov. 20, we will pack the baskets and have them ready for pickup on Saturday, Nov. 23. Please watch your bulletin announcements for details.

Thank you for contributing to the Diaz home in Honduras.  Great job!  Now let us go a step further and have a well built for a village. The cost is $205 for the water pump and $5,298, drilling and installing a well.  Our women’s Bible study already has enough money for the water pump and some towards the well.

Jesus cried out from His Cross “I THIRST.”  Christ hears the prayers and cries of families thirsting for clean water.  Villages desperately need this life saving resource because of the contaminated water that causes disease and even death among young children.  Together we can make a difference and we already have.  God bless each and every one of you.  Thank you!

Sunday, Nov. 4, is Food for the Poor Sunday. What is that Sunday all about? It is about understanding the needs of the poor. At Thanksgiving time last year $999.90 was collected for this organization. We asked a Food for the Poor representative where that money would be best spent? Mary Griffin told us a home for a family in Honduras. She also said an anonymous donor would add another home to that one. We would get two for the price of one. We need $2,200 to make that happen. Without your help they will never break the bonds of poverty. Please share the blessings we have been given by writing a check today. (Make check payable to: “Food for the Poor”)

HOPE’S FOOD PANTRY – “OUR” Pantry ALWAYS appreciates your donations! Please place them in the yellow wagon in the Narthex. Items MOST needed: Spaghetti Sauce, Pasta, Mac & Cheese, Cereal, Pancake Mix, Syrup, Peanut Butter, Jelly, Canned Meats, Fruits & Veggies, Boxed Meals (IE: Hamburger, Chicken or Tuna Helper etc.)

AND NOW: As the Holidays approach things like Boxed Mashed Potatoes, Stuffing, Cranberry Sauce Green Bean Casserole Fixins, Gravies, Creamed Soups (basically whatever would help a family put a nice holiday meal on their table) are needed. We would also gladly accept monetary donations to assist with the purchase of turkeys and miscellaneous supplies for those baskets.

THE Pantry is open YEAR ROUND: Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday (6-7:30pm) and Saturday (10-11:30am) but as you can imagine the need always increases over the Holiday Season.

KID’S CAFÉ: Additionally we support a local primary school by offering weekend meals to the children of families financially challenged who may not have much on the weekends. The items that would help support this effort are individually wrapped/boxed items such as breakfast bars, individual cereal boxes, Easy Mac, Crackers, UHT (Individual Boxed Milks that do not need refrigerated til opened) etc.

It’s only through our love and support that we can help those less fortunate than we.

The Food Bank itself is suffering, so your help is needed now more than ever. The last shopping trip we made to replenish our pantry we found very little available and that problem continues still.

WE ALL can help in our own way. It doesn’t matter how or from where that help comes. It all goes to the same good and serves our fellow man!! If you have some time to give no matter how big or how small, please join us!
