VOTERS MEETING: There will be a Voter’s Meeting on Sunday, April 2, at 12:30pm to approve the names of nominees that will be forwarded to SED President and to approve the new Call Committee membership.
Easter Lily orders are now being taken. The lilies are used to adorn the altar on Easter Sunday. A designation can be made in memory of, in honor of or in celebration of and will be listed in the bulletin on Easter Sunday. The last day to order is April 2. Everyone is encouraged to take their lilies home after the 11am Easter service and plant them in your yard to enjoy their beauty next year. Lily order forms and a collection box are on the table under the flower chart in the Narthex.
SOCIAL MINISTRY/FOOD PANTRY
Our pantry is open YEAR ROUND and we support several projects. Our next Food Pantry Open Dates: Wednesdays, April 12 & 26, from 6 to 7pm; and Saturdays, March 25, April 8 & 22, from 10 to 11am. Food pantry donations still needed: cereal, syrup, pancake mix, muffin mix, cake and frosting, peanut butter and jelly. If you are interested in being on the Social Ministry Team, please contact Jennifer Frederich. Thank you to all who are currently serving on the Social Ministry Team, your devotion to help the needs of others in our church and in the community is amazing!!
FOOD PANTRY: Easter basket donations will be accepted through April 2. Items needed: ham, cornbread, green beans, cranberry sauce, corn, potato mixes, pies and rolls. There are bags with the list of items needed located in the Narthex. Thank you for your support.
GARDENERS: This growing season we would like to offer fresh vegetables to the families we serve through the food pantry and also fellow members of our congregation. While you are out there preparing and planting throw in that extra pepper, tomato, eggplant, cucumber, and/or bean bush. Thank you.

JOY DAY: Children’s Ministry will host the annual “Joy Day Celebration” on Sunday, April 2, for all the children in our Sunday School and Day School. It will be held during Sunday School, 9:45-10:45am. Activities include special music, Easter drama, Easter craft, snack and take home treats! Invite a friend to join you! (There is NO Fee for this event)
Sunday School! Classes begin with JAM TIME at 9:45am in Kids Kingdom. We start with our Opening Praise and then go off to our classes. Sunday School is for ages 4 thru rising 6th grade.
SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP DRIVE – an outreach opportunity to send a needy child to Hope School to learn about Jesus. Please use the designated envelope or you can enroll in Simply Giving. Envelopes and Simply Giving forms are available in the lobby. Gifts will be used specifically for scholarships. Checks payable to Hope Lutheran School with a note: “For Scholarship”.
YOUTH OASIS is each Wednesday in the Loft. Join us 6:30-8pm for an evening of games, hangout, discussion and fellowship. All youth are welcome.
LADIES BIBLE STUDY-“Breaking Free” by Beth Moore: Join us as we study the Scriptures to discover the transforming power of freedom in Jesus Christ. Themes for this study come from Isaiah, a book about the captivity of God’s children, the faithfulness of God, and the road to freedom. See Pam Lagoc for more info. This class meets in the fellowship hall Sundays at 9:45am.
YOUNG COUPLES BIBLE STUDY: Class has started on Sundays at 9:45am. Join us in The Loft for fellowship and growth in our faith walks together. Sarah and Shawn White lead the discussions. If you have any questions, please e-mail Sarah at firstname.lastname@example.org, or Shawn at email@example.com.
WEDNESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY is 10:30am in Main 1. This class does not meet the last Wednesday of each month.
LEISURE LUTHERANS LUNCHEON: Monday, April 17, at 11:30am at Las Palmas, Virginia Beach. Sign-up sheet is in the narthex.
KNIGHTS OF HOPE: Devotional group of men, ages 18 & older, who gather the second Saturday each month at 8am for breakfast and to discuss the Bible and how to implement its teachings into their lives. They also participate in fun guy-centered activities, mission trips, as well as assist in different projects around the church. Notifications are sent out via email. 2017 ALTAR FLOWERS/ETERNAL FLAME: You may now place your 2017 Altar Flowers and Eternal Flame orders. Use the white 8½ x 11 sign-up sheet on the table below the flower chart. Do not write directly on the flower chart. Once your order is placed, your name will be printed and placed on the chart. Altar flowers may be taken home after the late service or picked up during the week. Proceeds from the past several years have provided a new fair linen (altar cloth), paraments, communion linen and banners.
