Plans are already being made for next summer’s mission trip for TRUTH (9th-12th grades).  To get a jump on fundraising for the trip, we will have a car wash on Saturday, Oct. 12, at Hope from 9am to 1pm. Workers should be there by 8:30am to help set up. If your car is in need of some TLC we can get it looking good!

On Saturday, Oct. 26, BODY and TRUTH will go to the Corn Maze at Bergey’s Breadbasket on Mt. Pleasant Rd. This is our annual event with other youth groups from our circuit.  Come enjoy a fun evening of hayrides, corn maze, and bonfires for roasting hot dogs and making s’mores, plus devotion time. We will meet at Hope at 5:15pm and return about 9:30pm.  The cost for the evening is $13.  Sign up and payment are due by Sunday, Oct. 20. This is a great opportunity to invite your friends to join us.  Any parent who can help with driving, please contact Linda Muth.

Twenty-six youth and their parents are attending Communion instruction classes on Wednesday nights through October 23 with their First Communion on Reformation Sunday, October 27.  We praise God for these young people and pray that He will continue to guide them as they grow in their faith.

Need a little boost on hump day?  Remember that Wednesdays are Hang Out Nights with dinner at 5:30 followed by devotions and fellowship time.

Activities at a Glance

What a wonderful turnout we had for SONFEST Sunday and our first day of classes last month! We even had to order more materials! JAM Time is going very well and the children seem to be very glad to be back in their regular routines, singing and going off to class with their great teachers.

Sunday, October 6, is Bible Sunday for the second graders in our Sunday School. We will have one of our pastors come in to present the Bibles to our students!  Parents are invited to attend.

October is such a great month here at church as the children always look forward to the All Saints’ Party.  This year, we will welcome all the saints to an evening of fun on Friday, Oct. 25. The kids will be so excited just to wear their costumes. Dinner will begin at 6pm and then we will of course go outside to Trunk or Treat. The children in our school and our Sunday School will receive an invitation for this event and we ask parents to RSVP to the teachers no later than Wednesday, Oct. 23.

This fall, we are asking the children to bring in food items for the Kids’ Café. Hope has adopted a public school and we help meet the needs of those children who may not have enough food for the weekends. Items to be collected will be small items like: cereal bars, individual fruit cups, microwave pasta meals, juice pouches, gummy fruit pouches, etc. We will collect these foods every Sunday morning during JAM Time.
