SINGERS & MUSICIANS NEEDED! Volunteers for all services! Do you have a musical talent that you could share at Hope? We would love to have you take part in the worship services occasionally or on a regular basis. Please see Kathryn Wacker, Matt Chadwick, Leighanna Montgomery, Jesse Brown or Kendall Guse.

Annual Key Log Audit ends Sept. 16. All members and staff will need to verify their key log sheet. This verification will include justification for type of key required for your position. Also, everyone who has an alarm code will need to attend a scheduled training session. Dates for training sessions TBD.

PLANNING CENTER is the management program Hope uses to plan the worship services and volunteers for the services. In addition, Planning Center has a “People” program listing all the people of Hope Lutheran Church. If you have not received an invitation for Planning Center or have not signed up with this program please see Kathryn. A kiosk will be in the narthex for you to sign up with Planning Center. Once you are signed up, you may look at upcoming services and sign up for open positions. If you find you cannot view a certain position for which you wish to sign up, please see Kathryn. Volunteers may also block out unavailable dates as well as sign up for convenient dates.


NEW! Children’s Choir for ages 5 thru 5th grade. Practices are Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:15pm. See Becky Burns for more information.

Volunteers are needed for 11am Kids Praise. Come have fun with our kids, ages 4 thru 2nd grade. Easy, fun curriculum to lead will be provided.

CHILDRENS SUNDAY SCHOOL:  Summer Sunday School is for ages 3 thru rising 5th graders in Kids Kingdom from 9:45-10:45.  Rising 6th graders will join BODY. Last Summer Sunday School is Aug. 26. Regular classes will resume Sept. 16 at 9:45am.

SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP DRIVE – an outreach opportunity to send a needy child to Hope School to learn about Jesus. Please use the designated envelope or you can enroll in Simply Giving. Envelopes and Simply Giving forms are available in the lobby. Gifts will be used specifically for scholarships. Checks payable to Hope Lutheran School with a note: “For Scholarship”.

A special scholarship fund has been established in honor of Carolyn Powell and her 30 years of service at Hope School. If you wish to donate, please note on your check: Carolyn W. Powell School Scholarship Fund.


YOUTH OASIS is at 6:30pm on Wednesdays. Come for an evening of games, hangout, discussion and fellowship. All youth are welcome. 

YOUTH SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES: Sign-up during Sunday School – Volunteer in the food pantry, 2nd & 4th Wednesdays & Saturdays of each month.


LADIES BIBLE STUDY: Daniel (by Beth Moore) Ladies, join us in Main 1 for a study in faith-building and learn how to live with integrity in today’s self-absorbed society. The prophet Daniel faced unbelievable pressures to compromise his faith, to live in a hostile culture, and to confront temptations and threats. Today, believers in Jesus Christ face many of the same trials. This class meets on Sunday mornings at 9:45am. For more info, contact Pam Lagoc at plagoc@shoreschristian.org.

WEDNESDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY is 10:30am in Main 1. This group does not meet the last Wednesday of each month.

LEISURE LUTHERANS: The next Leisure Lutheran Luncheon is Monday, Sept. 17, at 11:30am at Finn McCool’s (Providence Square Shopping Center, VB). See sign-up sheet in the narthex.

STAFF RECOGNITION DAY:  Save the date! Sunday, Sept. 30, we will recognize those special anniversary dates for some of our church employees. Join us for cake & coffee during Tasty Fellowship in the fellowship hall.

SOCIAL MINISTRY: Please leave donations in the yellow wagon in the coat closet. Our pantry needs: pancake mix & syrup, peanut butter & jelly, cereal, can fruit and Hamburger Helper. Thank you for the food donations. For more info: social@hopevabeach.org

FOOD DRIVE: The Knights of Hope will sponsor a Food Pantry Food Drive on Sunday, Oct. 7. For every pound of food you donate on this day, the Knights will match. Our goal is 1 TON (2,000 lb). In the past we have come close. WE WANT TO EXCEED 1 TON.

KNIGHTS OF HOPE: Devotional group of men, ages 18 & older, who gather the second Saturday each month at 8am for breakfast and to discuss the Bible and how to implement its teachings into their lives. They also participate in fun guy-centered activities, mission trips, as well as assist in different projects around the church.

SIMPLY GIVING (Hope’s automated giving program): It’s easy to sign up, easy to change if needed, and you never have to write another tithe check.
